We tend to imagine retirement as the point when we'll suddenly have time for all the things that don't fit into our lives now. And then retirement arrives.

For years, people at work have needed you. They've asked for your opinion. They've trusted your judgment. They've relied on your experience. You've made decisions, solved problems, led teams, developed people and contributed to work that mattered.

And then retirement arrives, and sometimes people are surprised by what they do miss. Often, it isn't the actual work. It's everything that came with it.
